Walk down the memory lane!

Today I was sitting idle in the park
When I heard the dog bark
The sound transported me back into time
When I was a kid, looking for heroes to mime.

The drawing, coloring and all the fun
Playing with friends under the sun
Participating in school lemon races
Putting cake on friend’s faces.
Running around in the house
Getting scared from a mouse.

Then came the adolescent age,
Mixed with feelings and rage.
Each day a new attraction,
Causing disturbances and distractions.

Moving up in the staircase of life,
Dealing with heartbreaks and strifes.
School, tuitions and this and that,
A new phone, laptop or tab.

Lo and Behold, I passed boards,
But not without memories and remorse.
Promises to stay in touch,
Sometimes fade a little too much.

Started afresh, on a new page,
College excitement causing daze.
New friends and memories to be made,
It’s all about destiny and fate.

The shouting broke my trance,
Brought me back to the current stance.
The walk down the memory lane,
Causing joy as well as pain.
