Let’s go Goa – Part 3

13th December 2014
Today’s plan was water sports. I was really really looking forward to it. We all had planned to get up early and leave around noon, but last night had taken its toll on us. We slept till late and then the entire plan got delayed. It was 4 o clock in the evening when we reached Anjuna Beach, where water sports took place. I was told that they stop it at 5 o clock, and I didn’t want to miss it because this was the last day for us. I was so relieved when they said we would be able to do it. There were four water sports – para sailing, banana ride, jet ski and doughnut ride and a boat ride till para sailing. The first one we were doing was para sailing, the one I was most eager about. Pawas went first, a little scared though. But when she came back she was so happy. Finally, my turn came. Oh, it was so amazing. Being in the sky, flying, blue-green colored sea and tiny people on land. Those two minutes have been by far one of the best experiences of my life. (To whomsoever reading this, if you do go to goa, definitely try para sailing). It’s an experience that can just be felt, not explained much in words. There’s a sense of peacefulness that comes with it. It feels as if you’re at the top of the world, with no care or worry. The rest of the water sports were okay, nothing as good as para sailing. Since it was evening by the time we came back from para sailing, I think, they were trying to rush so that all our water sports could get completed. Most beaches had a 6 o clock deadline, where the guard would take everyone out of the water and then leave. After that, you could go back in but on your own risk. I was happy that I’d been able to do the water sports. We went back to the hotel, changed and came to Baga Beach for dinner. We went to a place called Brittos, which is very famous in Goa. I, Mansi and Saumya ordered up pasta, because there was nothing better on the menu in vegetarian section. The rest of the table, as usual, had non vegetarian. The pasta was good and we clicked lots of pictures before leaving. We even saw fishes, live lobsters, crabs, and prawns. It was Saturday today, and Goa has a famous Saturday market similar to a flea market, and it has performances as well. We went there next but got separated. Harsh and Shagun ended up going to a different market, which actually was the one with performances. While, the rest of us ended up going to a market which was almost closing. Everyone was packing up and leaving. I ordered something to eat, while Juhi, Pawas, Saumya and Mansi were browsing around. On the way back to hotel we stopped at Dominos to take food for Mansi and Saumya. It was late, by the time we reached and got to bed. We had to checkout by 10 o clock tomorrow.

It was the day to leave the land of beaches. A thousand memories created, in the past six days which will be cherished forever. The innumerable first experiences in the first ever trip with friends felt like a dream come true. I along with Pawas, had planned to watch the sunrise. But since we slept late last night, we couldn’t get up in time. After packing up everything hurriedly and returning the vehicles, we checked out around 11. The train was to leave at 3 in the afternoon. We left the hotel and sat in Café Coffee Day, while waiting for the bus to come. We also took some food for the train, from a nearby shop. Pawas, Mansi, Juhi and Saumya had gone to shop in the market, which was on the way to Candolim Beach. The journey till the train station was uneventful, with some people dozing off while others singing or chatting. I just looked outside the window, to admire the view of this amazing city that we were leaving in few hours. The train journey this time was going to be different from the one I and Shagun had while coming to Goa. Our seats were with Mansi, Pawas and all and we stayed there only. This train journey was definitely more fun. We played cards, watched movies and shows in our phone, talked about random things, made fun of each other and shared food and ate. The entire two days, 14th December and 15th December passed in this way only. We even played dumb charades and it was so enjoyable. All of us laughing when the person couldn’t act or we couldn’t guess the movie, or just making random guesses which were not even related to the movie. We were to reach on 16th December, early morning around 8 o clock.

The train, ironically, was on time during this journey. I and Shagun took an auto for home, and after dropping him off, I came home. The week long journey had finally come to an end. As I rung the bell for home, all the memories flashed in front of my eyes in a second – the peacefulness at Candolim Beach, the swings in the hotel, the beautiful Basilica of Bom Jesus Church, the breeze at Aguada Fort, the volleyball match at Morjim Beach, the drunk people at Club Cubana, and the mesmerizing view during para sailing. Memories for a lifetime.

Through these posts, I would like to thank Pawas, Pranav, Juhi, Prasant, Saumya, Harsh, Mansi, Shubham, Parth and Ekam for making this trip a memorable one.
